Rather Short Reviews

A Scanner Darkly (2006)
Steven: The (rotoscoping) style works perfectly for the story. Willing to rewatch many times.
Casino Royale (2006)
Steven: The first 15 minutes are awe inspiring. The rest is a fairly cool revamp of the series starting with the original Bond character.
Juno (2007)
Steven: I wish I was as good a writer as Diablo Cody. And Ellen Page has so much awesome.
Wes: Despite Steve's atrocious grammar above, I agree with him: And Ellen Page has so much awesome.
3:10 to Yuma (2007)
Steven: Epic cowboy movie done properly. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are incredible.
Wes: Much, much better than 'Shanghai Noon', but it's not quite 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.'
Across the Universe (2007)
Steven: The music was pretty, but it was too long. And I wasn't high, so that might have ruined it for me.
Wes: An occasionally stunning collection of music videos for Beatles covers strung together with a straightforward narrative thread. Worth seeing on the big screen if you can forgive the movie for sucking one third of the time.
Shoot 'Em Up (2007)
Steven: Holy shit! Clive Owen and so much shooting and so much killing and so much awesome.
Wes: What Ong Bak did with martial arts, Shoot 'Em Up does with gunfights. This movie is exactly what you'd expect... in the best way possible.
The Bank Job (2008)
Steven: It's a right proper British crime movie done right proper. And they all talk in funny accents, it's awesome!
Wes: I didn't see this one because it doesn't have Micheal Caine.
Leatherheads (2008)
Wes: A cross between 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou' and 'The Mighty Ducks'.
Wes: ...in a good way.
